
Tyler Colenbrander
Tyler graduated from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and from the University of Cambridge as a Churchill Scholar with an MPhil in physics. Working with Prof. Harry Atwater (Caltech) and Prof. Louise Hirst (Cambridge), he researched different solar cell materials to enable new types of devices such as ultra-thin or flexible solar cells. Tyler aspires to continue researching renewable energy technologies to unlock novel applications of clean energy and tackle climate change. Outside of research, he works for a sustainability startup looking to reduce energy waste in research labs and enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee and basketball. Tyler is a Stanford Knight-Hennessy Scholar and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow.
